The Shame Cocoon

You look around and nothing changes
You read your Bible
And the verses are clear
But the depression remains
And worse, shame covers you
As a glove

You walk about
And see life through a filter
A filter of your desires
But also of past mistakes
And expectations

Even those of a Righteous walk
Have shame deposited on them
For their clear utterance of the Truth

Shame is more powerful than you think
But still defeatable
Absolutely defeatable

Enter into the battle
With all your weapons
You know Scripture
You are aware of the Power of God
You have been given faith to conquer
But where does the Power lie
That will defeat and utterly crush
and dispose of the shame?

Where, indeed?

Rise up from the mire of shame
And WORSHIP
Show your true roots
If your roots are in the Lord Jesus Christ
Then you are welcome in the Heavenlies
You are invited to praise Him
From a Heavenly Front

You are told that God inhabits
the praises of His people
The fact is:
You cannot carry / bear / wear
both praise for God and shame
One prohibits the other
Choose your clothing well

Shame is a sign
that all is not right

Shame is a reminder
that you are captured / imprisoned
By evil

Shame has its mission
and it is to keep you low
Unable to rise up in God's ordained
Blood bought promises for you

Shake the shame off, friends!
Only you can do this

Worship until you are free, pure,
Residing in the very heart of God
Draw God close
with your fragrance of praise

Each day you delay
Is a day lost
Each day you remain covered with shame
You deprive God of His due
and you miss out on the promises
He has made for you

Each day, each minute
Decide where your soul truly lives
Heaven or earth

“Come, Thou Fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy, never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
Praise the mount, I'm fixed upon it
Mount of Thy redeeming love”

“Through the praise of children and infants You have established a stronghold against Your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.”
Psalm 8:2

“Sing joyfully to the Lord, you Righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him.”
Psalm 33:1

“Set me free from my prison, that I may praise Your Name. Then the Righteous will gather about me because of Your goodness to me.”
Psalm 142:7
