THE LION ROARS

The lion roars
The earth shakes
Who rules the land, but the mighty?
Who are the mighty? I ask

The small boy polished his rock collection
which he had gathered
Of course, his grandfather had begun the collection
for him years ago, when the boy was just a toddler
The grandfather wanted to pass down a legacy
and provide something special for the boy
to remember him by
The boy, only 7, even now,
would sort and polish,
identify and write descriptions
in his small journal
He was surely a boy with a purpose

On occasion,
he would ask his parents to take him hiking
or down by the beach to collect new rocks
for the collection
Each day, the boy would look over the rocks
and be pleased with himself
remembering his grandfather
and this tie between them
~
How many of you are like this boy?
You have simple collections
of friends, things, books, movies, etc.,
you enjoy and which give you a sense of pride
in accomplishment or simple pleasure in owning
These collections also often remind you of ties to others
people you care about
and your world is secure, safe, filled

But there is a lion who roars
who seeks to destroy, to kill, to steal
and your world, safe as it may seem,
has no true protection from the mighty in the land

There was once
a land where the mighty were
the Righteous ones
but they chose what brought forth their ruin
and the mighty became the ones of evil

Is there any hope
to return this land to the Righteous?
Only after
DESTRUCTION
For only then will the hearts be ready
to once again listen and obey
THE RIGHTEOUS KING
