THE BLIND MAN AND THE GOAT

The blind man walked along the road
slowly and somewhat surely
The little goat followed, but would hesitate...
The man would speak to the goat as he walked
He would reassure the goat
that he knew which steps to take
which road was best
The goat had little choice
He was bound tightly around the neck
and pulled along
and told repeatedly to be obedient

"Always be obedient, little goat
Always listen to me
Always follow me
I am all you've got in this world
and you need my help
You need someone
wiser and smarter than you to lead you"

This continued on day after day......
The man was not really sure where he was going,
but he allowed the little goat no doubt
He allowed him no hesitation
He allowed him no second thoughts about his master

The day came when a storm arose
The man confused by the wind and the rain
lost his bearings
off on another road he traveled
He knew not one road from another
they all felt the same beneath his feet until that day....
His feet slipped out beneath him
and he fell over the cliff to his death
The goat pulled by the same force as always
was obedient unto death_______

~
Are you the man or the goat?
Are you the blind man leading others
where you have not traveled?
Are you the goat following the blind obediently?

THEY BOTH DIED!
THEY BOTH LOST IT ALL!

Oh that we would SEE!
Oh that we would not force others to go our way!
Oh that we would open our eyes and our ears
and follow the Great Shepherd
and HIM ALONE!
Oh that we would loosen the cord
about our necks
and follow the Great Shepherd
with obedience and love!
Oh that we would hear His Voice
and know that we are
HIS and HIS ALONE!

"MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE,
AND I KNOW THEM,
AND THEY FOLLOW ME."

JOHN 10:27

"Therefore, this is what the Lord says:
You have not obeyed Me; you have not proclaimed freedom
for your fellow countrymen.
So I now proclaim 'freedom' for you, declares the Lord ---
'freedom' to fall by the sword, plague and famine.
I will make you abhorrent to all the kingdoms of the earth."
JEREMIAH 34:17
