100 DAY WAR

Silence

My soul aches now
for hope that is lost
for innocence remembered
and dreams once wrought
my heart weeps in vain
and knows no reprieve
from sorrow and love
it bleeds
your hatred pierced deep
your silence hurt well
beneath blows of cowardice
I fell
I struggled to rise
but the grief was too strong
I knew not how to fight
a friend that was gone
I longed to speak Truth
I longed to know why
I longed for the past
but had to say
goodbye
